(Warsaw, 29 June 2016): Plume WIFI has been announced as the winner of the 2016 Innovation Award, honouring the best new product idea at Cable Congress. The award was voted for by Cable Congress attendees. Plume WIFI is a self-optimizing Adaptive WiFi™ system providing a fast and reliable connection in every corner of the home without the need for a router. The system relies on the cloud and a set of small, sleek designer pods that can be plugged in different rooms. This provides a higher amount of bandwidth than any other home WiFi solution. At any time, Plume dynamically shifts network resources from the cloud to the devices that need them the most, guaranteeing seamless connection.

“Routers are often a source of frustration when it comes to connecting at home”, Said CEO Fahri Diner. “We put WIFI where it belongs – everywhere.”

The prize was awarded following the Innovation Showcase hosted by CableLabs on Day 2 of Cable Congress. The Showcase celebrates innovative products of interest to cable companies, together with their customers, that have the potential to make a difference in 2016 and beyond. The five finalists were selected by a committee of experts on cable and technology outreach matters. The award was presented by Kym McNicholas, Director of Extreme Tech Challenge, and Phil McKinney, President and CEO of CableLabs. This is the first time the event takes place at Cable Congress.

The other four finalists were: real-time big data analytics tool Deep.BI; NFWare, which provides high performance Network Functions Virtualization technologies; 4screen, a platform for building real-time engagement apps; and SambaTV, which offers smart TV across devices based on viewership data.
